The 2006 Memorial Day
Ceremony was spectacular. In addition to honoring current
faculty members who had served in the US military, there was a
stirring memorial display of the WHS graduates who have passed away
while in service to our country over the years.

After the ceremony, WHS
Principal Dr. John Dahlem was presented with a US Flag by
Congressman Ed Royce's office in recognition of his continuing
efforts to keep the sacrifices of our military personnel
present in the hearts and minds of everyone associated with Western
High School.

Dr. John Dahlem, a great
leader at Western High School, and a driving force behind the WHSAA
is retired after the end of last school year.
At his retirement party on June 15, 2006, the WHSAA upheld a Western
High School tradition by presenting Dr. Dahlem with a white Stetson
Hat.
